POLITICS The LaidlawListens.com website was established in 2006 when I ran for Council (successfully) in Ward 2, King Township. It continued to be used through the 2010 Municipal election when I ran for Mayor (unsuccessfully) as a venue for informing all interested parties of the issues (as I saw them) and the positions identified of all the major vested interests in the outcomes. I continue to be involved; though far more quietly, in the politics of King Township with position papers on the 2012 Budget for example, and then issues local to Schomberg where I currently reside. For those who wish to hear those positions or discuss politics within King Township, I am pleased to continue to have discourse, discussion, debate and to offer what insight I can in to events within the Township and can be reached at jeff@laidlawlistens.com.
PHOTOGRAPHY I have also been a photographer since the age of 14 when I was handed a Kodak Instamatic by my parents and told to get pictures of my eldest sister's 21st Birthday party. One suspects in hindsight that this may have been something of a ruse to keep my out of the way of my sister's friends, BUT nevertheless, led to a lifelong interest in capturing the perfect (or as close as I can get) images. My recent show, Visions of Canada, held at the King Township Museum with fellow photographers Emily Barton and Fred Jessop was well attended and successful, and this website will now offer links (updated as we move forward) to galleries of images.
